Standards-based content management
Texcel Information Manager™ (IM) is a comprehensive content and process management system for creating and managing the vital information that you provide to your customers and constituents.
Groups of knowledge workers can use IM's collaborative tools to find, edit, review, reuse, and assemble information managed in a secure IM database. IM manages a wide variety of information, from files produced by popular desktop applications to highly modular document objects defined by XML and SGML.
With IM, you can maintain and access document objects that are independent of delivery format and reusable across multiple documents and applications. For example, a set of procedures could be delivered as part of a reference manual, and also accessed in a Help Desk system.
Document content created and managed using the IM system can easily be distributed to the Web or your Intranet, as part of a specialized electronic delivery system, or as printed documents.
IM's friendly Windows Explorer-style interface gives you easy access to all your information components, enabling you to search for, edit, comment on, recombine and archive content using a few keystrokes.
The IM Desktop
Is IM just what you need?
Whether you are a manufacturer, a commercial reference publisher, a services organization, or a government agency, IM can increase the efficiency with which you create, access, and assemble document information. This can dramatically improve your competitive position by speeding time to market, improving customer support, reducing costs, and ensuring quality.
* An equipment manufacturer can integrate the product design, build, deliver, and support cycles by providing engineers, technical writers, managers, and customer support personnel with access to IM. Valuable information is leveraged across these teams and maintained in IM databases.
* A reference publisher can produce Web, CD-ROM, and print materials concurrently, using workflow to automate editorial processes and IM to manage versions of documents and other content.
* A government agency or financial service organization can produce custom reports on demand with the Document Assembly tool. Content is constantly updated using IM's collaborative authoring tools. Versions, links, and metadata are tracked in the IM database.
